STUDY OF THE INTERFERENCE BETWEEN MULTIPLE SCATTERING AND BREMSSTRAHLUNG (THE LPM EFFECT)
This is an End Station A experiment. Measures the magnitude of the suppression of bremsstrahlung by multiple scattering for high-energy electrons in dense media (known as the Landau-Pomeranchuk-Migdal effect). Studies also the suppression of low-energy photon bremsstrahlung due to dielectric suppression. Data analysis in progress (July 96).
